In Zaina's Bag...

Usually I have a lot more junk & random things in my purse but I cleaned it out before classes started. These are the things that made the cut & I carry around all the time: lotion, perfume, keys (with Temple mirror attached), comb, blackberry charger, lipgloss, lipstick, hand sanitizer, journal & planner.
I live a very fast paced life and have to be prepared for anything I may need to use during the day. I absolutely hate wasting time and like to keep myself busy. There are days when I don't get home until late at night,  which is where all my essentials come into play.

I always have my journal where I write down ideas for videos, films, characters, or anything for potential scripts. If there is ever any down time, I pull it out and brainstorm. My blackberry charger keeps me in touch with the rest of the world and I need to always have it because my battery dies all the time.
Hand lotion is a must because I absolutely hate dry hands. Since I'm always on the go, hand sanitizer plays an important role in my daily activities because I can't eat without sanitizing my hands.
I am very aware of my appearance and need to have lip gloss, comb, perfume and keychain Temple mirror to make sure I stay fresh throughout my busy days. I would hate to be stranded with dry lips or smelling weird as the day goes on.
Everything I carry may reflect the cultural changes in that there is a global understanding of what is considered to be "appropriate". If you don't fall into that category then you'll end up on twitter or "twitpic-ed". This puts pressure on people to always look their best because people take gossiping to another level. Now social media plays a huge role. People take pictures of others and post on their Facebook & Twitter for their friends to laugh at. With the speed and extensiveness of technology, it makes everyone aware of their appearance to a certain extent. Therefore, I need my essentials to help me get through my long days feeling refreshed and well kept.
